In The Mind Of An OutSource Buyer

Don’t you ever wish you could see directly into the mind of a buyer?

Companies pay thousands of dollars every month to educate themselves, test, track and discover new ways to understand buying habits and their mindset.

Well we have asked several of our buyers to share with us, their answers to 3 popular questions

  1. what are you looking for in a freelancer?

  2. what makes you pick one freelancer over another?

  3. what is your top pet peeve with freelancers?

We hope this will help you freelancers who at times are baffled to why you never got selected for a job.

Stacy, New York

1. I have to say that usually I am looking for someone who not only has solid experience they can show, but its their communication. If they are slow in responding, and I have to wait like 24hrs to hear back, its usually not a person I will work with again.
2. It’s not always money that makes me choose someone. Many times I have chosen a coder to do a job who has bid twice the amount of other people. Usually its something about their portfolio or their ability to show they have actually read my description
3. People who don’t read Descriptions, like it only takes a few minutes, if that to read what we are asking for. I cant stand having to explain it all over again.

Tim, Vancouver

1. First, thanks for letting me share my thoughts. Freelancers that go the extra mile
2. I select most freelancers on price alone. I am here to get a deal, if I wasn’t I would go offline to a regular brick and mortar company.
3. Outrageous Hourly rates.

Janice, Australia

1.  Fast turnaround and meeting deadlines. This is one area that many freelancers seem to fail in. Because they work from home they seem to think they can do it whenever. I look for freelancers who always hit their deadline without fail.
2.  I select freelancers based on past feedback and history from other buyers. Price is not a problem for me. I am willing to hand over large sums of money for good quality work, I think a freelancer is worth their time, but if their history is awful I wont touch them at all.
3.  Not meeting Deadlines.
